ABOUT NDAMP

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to create and foster a community of meat processors by providing a platform to exchange ideas and reflect on challenges, which will better the industry for all.

2023-2024 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Trina Schweitzer
Owner of Schweizer's Gourmet Meats

My husband and I opened Schweitzer's Gourmet Meats in 2017. We are located near Moffit, ND. We are a family owned and operated plant. We’ve learned many things from seasoned meat processing operators throughout the last 7 years that has improved our operation and are happy to share our experiences with others in the meat processing industry. I am happy to serve on the NDAMP board to help promote good relationships between fellow plant operators and continue to learn new ways to run our plants in the most safe and efficient way.

Spencer Wirt
Manager of 6 in 1 Meats

I have been involved with the small meat processing industry for 13 years with different companies. I now manage 6in1 Meats. I have been involved with the North Dakota Association of Meat Processors (NDAMP) for the past 9 years and served on the board of the Dakota Association of Meat Processors (our previous association) as Vice President. This organization has helped me connect with other processors, suppliers, and make great friendships that continue to grow my skills and businesses.

Alex Myers
Owner/Manager of Myers Meats and Specialties

I grew up in the meat business. I remember playing “butchering“ in our living room at home when I was 4-5 years old, long before I was old enough to be on the kill floor. Nearly 40 years later, the anticipation of slaughter day is still there. Owner/manager challenges are present almost every day. Being a part of this association affords you a vast array of resources, and the luxury of being connected with peers who have faced, or are facing, some of the same challenges.

Phill Newman
Mema's Meats

In 2020, my wife and I ventured into the Meat Processing Industry due to challenges in the Oilfield industry during the Covid Pandemic. We moved to North Dakota from Utah in 2010 and grew to love the rural lifestyle and agriculture-based state. Initially, we had a small hobby ranch, raising beef and pigs for our family. However, with the difficulty of securing butcher appointments, we saw an opportunity to create a sustainable business that would benefit our community. Inspired by my son-in-law, who once worked in a Kansas packing plant, we decided to open Mema's Meats. We prioritize educating our customers and community while sourcing the highest quality products from local farmers and ranchers. Joining NDAMP has been invaluable for learning from others in the meat industry and sharing our experiences.

Jamie Romfo
Regional Sales Manager, VC999 Packaging Systems, Inc.

I am new to the meat processing industry. My involvement with NDAMP is to help grow the association through connections with processors and other suppliers. It's my goal to provide resources and tools to processors to meet their daily operational needs and future growth. I am happy to volunteer my time to serve on the NDAMP board to promote this association and what it has to offer.

Jami Reister
NDAMP Secretary/Treasurer

I have been involved in the meat industry since 2005 when the family opened the butcher shop. I have been the secretary treasurer of NDAMP since 2013. This organization has brought great friendships and learning each year and I look forward to the NDAMP convention every year.

Matthew Reister
Owner Reister Meats & Catering

I've worked in the industry on and off for 18 years. In 2022 I bought out our parent’s operation with my bother, and now I'm a proud NDAMP board member.
